A series of notable conferences have been scheduled between June and August 2026, providing excellent platforms for sharing research findings and discussing cutting-edge issues.

From the 3rd International Workshop on Risk-Sharing (IWRS) in Shenzhen, to the 29th  Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (IME) in Seoul, followed by the 4th International Conference on Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management in Beijing, and concluding with the 16th China International Conference on Insurance and Risk Management (CICIRM) in Kunming – each event will bring together leading academics and feature a rich diversity of discussion topics.

2026 International Workshop on Risk-Sharing (IWRS)​​

Overview:​​

The International Workshop on Risk-Sharing (IWRS) is an annual academic platform focused on risk-sharing technologies and practices, initiated in 2024 by scholars with shared interests. Each year's workshop includes multiple thematic sessions covering areas such as the mathematical foundations of risk-sharing, catastrophe risk-sharing, climate change and sustainable development, pension risk-sharing, government and bank risk-sharing, and decentralized insurance. The organizers' vision is to establish the workshop as an open forum encompassing diverse themes and perspectives, fostering meaningful dialogue and innovation across different practical domains of risk-sharing.

The International Conference on Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (IME) is an influential international academic conference in the fields of risk management, insurance, and actuarial science. It serves as a bridge between theory and practice, addressing contemporary challenges in insurance and risk management, and aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among academics, practitioners, and policymakers in actuarial science and related disciplines. Since 1997, this annual conference has primarily featured discussions on groundbreaking research in areas such as risk modeling, insurance, mathematics, and financial economics.

The 4th International Conference on Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management​

Date: July 4-6, 2026

Overview:​​

The International Conference on Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, and Risk Management (QFARM) was initiated in 2023 by the China Institute for Actuarial Science and the School of Insurance at the Central University of Finance and Economics. Its purpose is to stimulate development in these disciplines, promote interdisciplinary exchange and innovative cooperation, explore new research paradigms, and build a high-level international platform for academic communication. The conference program includes plenary speeches and dozens of parallel sessions covering numerous research areas within actuarial science, quantitative finance, and risk management. Each year, the conference attracts over 200 participants, including faculty and students, from countries such as the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Australia, as well as from various regions within China and Hong Kong SAR. The conference has been successfully held three times to date.

The 16th China International Conference on Insurance and Risk Management (CICIRM)​​

Overview:​​

The China International Conference on Insurance and Risk Management (CICIRM) is the sole international academic conference in China focusing on insurance and risk management. Organized by the China Center for Insurance and Risk Management at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, it is held annually in collaboration with different universities. Since its inception in 2010, fifteen annual conferences have been successfully held in cities including Xining, Beijing, Changsha, and Ningbo. The conference aims to promote exchange and collaboration between China and the international community in the fields of insurance, risk management, and actuarial science, providing a communication platform for both academia and industry.
