Professor at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, graduated from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Science and Technology of China in 1982 with a bachelor's degree; obtained a master's degree from the Department of Information Management at Renmin University of China in 1984; and received a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1995. His main research areas include: risk management and insurance, insurance market development and regulation, enterprise risk management, corporate pensions, social insurance, etc.; he teaches courses such as Risk Management and Insurance, Property and Liability Insurance, Life and Health Insurance, Social Insurance, Integrated Enterprise Risk Management, Data, Models and Decision Making, and Fundamentals of Actuarial Science. His major academic positions include: Executive Director of the China Insurance Association, Vice President of the Asia Pacific Institute of Risk and Insurance (APRIA) (formerly), editorial board member of The Journal of Risk Finance (formerly), editorial board member of Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (formerly), editorial board member of Insurance Research, and chair of successive sessions of the "International Annual Conference on Insurance and Risk Management" from 2010 to 2022.
